Suggestion
I prefer this plan vs a big box store. We need affordable housing in the area. It would be great if the housing being developed in this area offered discounts to teachers.
Suggestion
No to connecting San Remo to Stewart Rd. San Remo is a private road in a small residential neighborhood. Residents use this street to walk their dogs, check the community mail box, and take their children to the pool. There are no sidewalks on this street. A cut through would be detrimental to the safety of our neighborhood and to our lifestyle.
Suggestion
No to big box: no public transportation. Hard to find workers. Traffic to the hospital and HEB would be a nightmare. Think about the accidents near HEB and the Hospital and the high school. How many accidents happen daily between General Williamson and Clara Van. We need green space, trails. That is why we moved out here.
Question
Don't want to see more development of buildings that are going to add to traffic congestion. I'd rather see sports fields, parks and walking trails. Are there limits or moratoriums on how much we can allow to be built in this area?
Suggestion
I like the idea of utilizing existing buildings and space and preserving Old Lakeway as the hear of our city. I prefer this option from a fiscal perspective, a personal perspective and and preservation of home town feel perspective.
Question
Is there a traffic solution to adding all this housing? Is there a water solution? Before we add more housing like this, this has to be addressed. 620 sits at a near standstill on many days...We will ruin our community if it becomes too crowded and we can't water and we can't move freely.
Suggestion
Lakeway citizens voted down big box retail long ago and that shouldn't change. It will change the flavor of this community to just another "Anytown USA" in my opinion. Plus, it will add the the traffic congestion.
Suggestion
I am opposed to more development on 620. The traffic is a mess as it is.
Suggestion
This is not preferred. Of the three Alternatives, Alternative A would be the best if anything is going to be located on this property. It seems insane to consider this Alternative C with ~280 multi-family and townhome units on this property in addition to a hotel, restaurants and retail given how congested RR 620 already is in this area. Also, sewer line capacity considering the RISE development further up the road may be an issue.

This is not preferred. Of the three Alternatives, Alternative A would be the best if anything is going to be located on this property. It seems insane to consider Alternative B with ~380 multi-family and townhome units on this property in addition to restaurants and retail given how congested RR 620 already is in this area. Also, sewer line capacity considering the RISE development further up the road may be an issue.

Of the three options, this would be preferred, i.e. a big box store. It seems insane to consider Alternatives B & C with ~380 multi-family and townhome units on this property given how congested RR 620 already is in this area. Also, sewer line capacity considering the RISE development further up the road may be an issue.
Suggestion
In the development budget is anyone making a suggestion to limit high density housing or proposing an occupancy tax per unit of high density housing to pay for the cost of increased density and service use?
in reply to Andrew Smith's comment
I support more green lawn park space, a la Bee Cave City Park.
Question
Where are more details about this option? (Sorry if I'm missing it.)
Suggestion
i agree, whatever is chosen should not increase taxes
Suggestion
Lots of great ideas here, but VERY hard to read and follow. My main input is please do NOT increase or raise ANY new taxes to fund ANY of this. Preferably you would CUT taxes as they are already extremely high relative to other areas, thus diminishing the value of our properties
Suggestion
I prefer this alternative B. The area does need an additional hotel that only drains more water from the lake. The hotels on Hwy 71 are quite adequate.
Suggestion
Alternative B doesn't make sense with the minimal information on this plan. Why can't the existing activity center be renovated to do what the rectangular community pavilion is showing? A good architect can make it work I would think. On Alt B -What about an upper level, or a covered walkway in front and pavilion located where the outdoor programming is shown.
Question
What is a "Community Center"?
Where did City Hall and the Activity Center go?
What is a "Community Pavilion?
In our (mostly) hot weather, a Outdoor Classroom is not a good idea and will not be well used.
Suggestion
No Big Box stores!!
I would like to see a large performance venue added to the existing Lakeway Activity Center. This would be utilized by many groups several times a year and be worthwhile. I do not think there should be retail near the City Hall area area on Lohman's Crossing. This area is for residences.
Prefer plan C for this one.
Suggestion
No to multifamily housing.
Yes t town houses and single story homes.
If you are going to create a new retail center, have all the parking on the outside and ONLY pedestrians walking in the middle between the shops and restaurants.
No to any building and conversions to retail space for both plans. Yes to pedestrian connections and farmer's market.
